Overcoming own temptations
Explanation:
Temptations are instrument for Satan
What temptations do?
Temptations
pull you back from your own good path you have decided upon
They invite
other temptations once you gave in
Temptation
causes poverty
They are not
a genuine variable in our lives
On the other
hand
Temptations
are God’s revelation to us. They
foretell what is about to come in our lives.
For an
example- Stealing is a temptation, but it makes us to open our eyes that it is
wrong to steal, that you have to change your ways. When you become aware of
your folly and then change God elevates you to a higher level. He pots
questions in heart. You have to be careful of your revelation. Be careful of
the power and might of God.
Temptations prepare your life:
-cause they
elevate you
-teach you
-reveals
true friends/companions
-and that
God raises up people who will love you when you are down in your life
Temptations
behave oddly, sometimes. They have the uncanny ability to reveal other elements
in your life that were your other temptations. They reveal your true friends,
they reveal true situations in your life.
Examples of
temptations in the bible:
Jesus
walking on water
Jesus healing of the sick child
Judas allowed to betray Christ

Stick to your position
The word of the Lord read from Ruth
2: 8
The first
thing of importance to notice about Ruth is that when Boaz did not offer her a
job she chose instead to work for his servants, becoming their slave. She did
this because she was so eager to mark her territory. It is also important to note the tenacity Ruth’s
total commitment in the decisions she took.
Now in the
read passage Boaz implores her to stick to her guns, so to say. He tells her not to look sideways or to lose
sight of the work and task at hand, that of working her apportioned piece of
the land. He asked her to concentrate and be steadfast and to stand her ground,
which all Christians should do. It is meaningful for you to stick to your
designated position. This marks your territory. When, eventually, God is ready
to bless you His angels will easily locate you when they are send to bless you.

Don’t give up on an agreement with
God
The word of
the Lord read from Exodus 5: 22, Isaiah 54: 7 and Joel 2: 24
Many Christians have an agreement, a covenant, with
God. But, invariably, along the way, many get tired about it and give, thus
breaking the covenant and the agreements.

Prayer
The word of the Lord read from
Proverbs 6:20
You have to consider the following
points when you discuss this powerful weapon, prayer:
The word of the Lord makes your
prayer possible and powerful. So when you pray in must be in God’s name.
Forgiveness in your heart. Pray with a heart free of malice. It is always
advisable to start your prayer with a heart that is devoid of bitterness,
anger, rage and is not slanderous( Ephesians 4: 32)
Deal with your heart. That is, pray
with a pure heart.
The Lord
wants you to maintain peace and to fulfill that you must always be in prayer.
He tests your faith in Him. If you prayers are answered it does not mean
mission accomplished. No, you pray harder, more. You continue with the prayers for a new
blessing. God responds continuously when you don’t break your prayers.

Allow God to take control
The word of the Lord read from
Luke 14:11
In reading this verse there are two
important aspects to take care of. The
first is that the Pharisee went to see was a prominent ruler, a chief and
powerful. Secondly, it is the fact that
Jesus was watched ‘carefully’. This is very true of us, Christians; we are
always under some spotlight ourselves.
This is very true of our problems; they are always very prominent,
enjoying attention wherever we are. These problems rule over other problems we
night have in the eyes of those who are watching us.
These problems manifests in such a
way they carefully go over all other intruders, including those who want to
help you. Everyone is watching you- they are morbidly waiting for you to perish
and when you make it they are also watching helplessly. The Pharisees were
always keen to see how Jesus was going to solve a certain problem.
But, there is a way of coming out of
poverty, joblessness, squalor and all other problems. You can actually do this
without the enemy seeing and knowing about this development.
When you experience these problems be
humble: don’t go eye to eye with the enemy. Take the back seat. Don’t be all
over the place looking for help!
And don’t adopt the evil ways of the
enemy. Like hate. When you are humble God elevates you but when your heart is
full of hate God is unable to promote you.
Maintain your value with God. In Matthew 21 we read that a rejected brick
turns out ot be the best one to the overall value of the dwelling. So take a step back and wait for God for we
don’t know where we are going. Only He knows. Allow God to take control. Allow
the Holy Spirit to guide you.
Importantly, don’t desire too
much-don’t be greedy. Wait for God to provide. When we follow God we don’t go
ahead of Him, He walks ahead of us.
Don’t overtake him.
